Edibles

I adore all that is food. The intimacy of food is so delectable yet so simple; sharing a meal with a friend who’s ravenous after work or who has a sad, bare fridge transforms the perfunctory act of eating into a uniting human experience. I find the process of cultivation, preparation and consumption of foodstuffs rewarding and therapeutic. The cyclical nature of food, for example, composting the scraps which turn into nourishment for the plants which we then re-consume, is fascinating. Even leftovers can be reinvented and made new. The fun never ends!

But, I can wax lyrically about food for ages, or try to, so now for actual information sharing: if while going through my recipes you notice everything’s vegetarian, that’s oddly because I am vegetarian. I’ve divided all the recipes into categories such as EnglishLebanese and Sweet for navigational ease. For those of you in search of Vegan recipes they are denoted. I try to be as vegan as possible but I really can’t lay claims to the title– I dabble in the dairy a bit too much. If you’re just starting to experiment with cooking or want to make a simple meal try Super Easy.

Some current recipes to peruse are:

And Foodies out there:  no matter the looks of derisions the so-called cool kids, killjoys or intellectuals give you, own it. Take pictures of your food, savor it, indulge in it! You are justified. Food is one of the most amazing things we have to drool over and obsess about. Tell them I said so.
